Lately our graphic designer Marco from Mousse Studio, has been constantly talking with me about the single “Métaphysique” by the French beatmaker known as Wolf. To be honest, I don’t know his real name, or maybe he doesn’t want us to know his real name. I came across his music in the middle of the amount of spam we receive everyday and I shared this track with Marco because I already know what’s his personal sound aesthetic. The single “Métaphysique” is taken from Wolf’s second “Moody!” EP, released on February 25th via WithUsRecords. Wolf’s sound combines perfectly the beats from his MPC with some sort of cinematographic and theatrical ambient. He’s clearly influenced by people such as Joe Dante or Paul Verhoeven, heading the listener into a roller coaster of contradict – feelings-emotions-perceptions. If you pay attention to the video below, you will totally understand what I’ve just written. I completely understand now why Marco keeps pushing me to post this track. It is truly addictive, and for sure it will instantly make you repeat it. It might also depend on your mood, but I’m totally sure you won’t stay indifferent to it. I’ve also copied Wolf’s own thoughts about this new work. Read it below:
“It reflects who I am: it’s volatile, with its tracks following each other randomly depending on my mood, I’m using a very intuitive artistic approach.”
