You all know we are unconditional fans of Maribou State. That isn’t a secret, and even if we would like to denied it, you could easily confront us with a quick search on Golden Scissors post history. We have been posting the gorgeous creations of the London duo for quite some time now and not so rarely we make sure to revisit some of the pearls they have been presenting us along their solid career. I am talking about the beautiful “Blue Sunday” track (listen here) or the unreal work they did remixing Fatboy slim’s “Praise you” (listen here).
This time they present us with a special rework of “Rituals”, the first single of their debut album Portraits, coming out on June 2nd via Counter Records/ Ninja Tune.
While listening to “Rituals (MS Edit)” we experienced the weird and cool feeling of not being able to control our body movements. As soon as the first beat pumps into our ears, our toes start to move up and down, and after a while we realise our heads were also moving to the pleasant and slightly hypnotic composition. With some carefully placed notes of excitement, the piece drives us gently through a relaxed but intense dance voyage. Excellent work!
